NIIF has appointed Gauravjit Singh as Managing Partner and Global Head of Capital Formation to lead fundraising and broaden its global and domestic institutional investor base.

National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIF), India’s sovereign-anchored alternative asset manager, has appointed Gauravjit Singh as Managing Partner – Global Head of Capital Formation, according to a press statement.

Gauravjit has nearly two decades of experience in raising institutional capital across global, India-focused and pan-Asian alternative investment strategies. Most recently, he served as Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising for PAG’s private equity division in Singapore, where he was also a member of the Investment and Exit Committees, said the statement.

At NIIF, Gauravjit will lead capital formation across the firm’s investment strategies, with a focus on deepening relationships with existing investors, expanding its international and domestic institutional investor base, and mobilising new sources of capital.

“We have seen strong support from institutional investors across our successor funds, reflecting confidence in both the India opportunity and NIIF’s investment strategies,” Sanjiv Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, NIIF, said

As we enter our next phase of growth, deepening our relationships with existing investors, bringing new investors into the NIIF ecosystem and broadening our sources of capital will be important priorities, he added.

Over the past 24 months, NIIF has mobilised approximately $3 billion in new equity capital commitments across its strategies.

Earlier this year, NIIF secured commitments of up to $750 million at the first close of its Private Markets Fund II, which has a target size of $1 billion, with fundraising continuing. In August, NIIF announced the ₹19,000 crore (approximately $2 billion) first close of Infrastructure Fund II, representing more than 60% of its ₹30,000 crore (approximately $3.2 billion) target size.

Gauravjit Singh, Managing Partner – Global Head of Capital Formation, NIIF, said, “India is now central to how global institutions think about long-term returns. Conviction is no longer the primary constraint — differentiated opportunity is. NIIF’s role is to create meaningful and investable pathways to accelerate the flow of capital into India’s growth.”

Prior to joining NIIF, Gauravjit led Investor Relations at True North, where he supported the firm’s expansion into private credit and its entry into new institutional markets across the US, Europe, MENA and Japan.

Earlier, he spent nearly nine years with KKR in Hong Kong, where he was involved in launching several of the firm’s first-time funds, including strategies focused on infrastructure, special situations and energy, it said.

Anchored by the Government of India in partnership with leading global investors, NIIF manages more than $7 billion in equity capital commitments across four investment strategies: Infrastructure, Private Markets, Growth Equity and Climate Investments.
