myLaw.net in talks to raise up to Rs 20 crore

Mumbai: Rainmaker Learning Resources, which runs portal myLaw.net, is in talks to raise a new round of funding of up to Rs 20 crore from venture capital funds and ultra high net worth individuals.

The seven-year-old startup, backed by heavy hitters like DSP Blackrock chairman Hemendra Kothari and AZB Partners’ Bahram Vakil, provides online training courses to law students and freshly-minted lawyers in areas like commercial contracts and the new Companies Act.

myLaw.net, which expects to hit revenues of Rs 6 crore by the end of the year, will use the funds to expand business from corporates, tie-up with US universities for content and expand customer base to Southeast Asia.

“Our courses are designed by lawyers who have worked in the real world including law firms, corporates or have practiced with top litigators,” said CEO Antony Alex, who was earlier part of core founding team at legal process outsourcing firm Pangea3.
