MP Shyam named president of trust that runs RV institutions

A meeting of the board of trustees has unanimously selected MP Shyam to helm the institutions. Shyam succeeds his father, veteran educationist MK Panduranga Setty as head of the trust.

Well-known entrepreneur MP Shyam (61) has been named the new president of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, one of the oldest educational trusts that manages RV Group of educational institutions as well as the RV University in Bengaluru.

A meeting of the board of trustees has unanimously selected him to helm the institutions. Shyam succeeds his father, veteran educationist MK Panduranga Setty as head of the trust.

The trust, founded in 1940 by freedom fighter MC Sivananda Sarma, began with a primary school with six students in Bengaluru.


Today, it manages 20 schools and colleges, including engineering and dental colleges, with a combined student strength of about 20,000 students.

The US-educated Shyam, who holds a doctorate in logistics is a veteran automobile dealer across brands including Hyundai, Honda, Ford, Mercedes, JCB, and Ashok Leyland besides that of electric vehicle brands including Ather Electric, AltiGreen and Fitch. Shyam also heads the Karnataka chapter of the Federation of Auto Dealers Association.
