MUMBAI: More women in India, than any other part of the world, are willing to take on global roles and feel that they are equipped to succeed in the future, show Accenture study findings.

While 92% of the Indian women (and 92% Indian men) agree that they are equipped to succeed in the global world of the future, 93% Brazilians, 81% Chinese, 74% British and 78% Americans feel the same way.

“Indian women, given the complexity of the roles, feel they are far more prepared to take on global roles than their counterparts in any other part of the world,” Ramnath Venkatraman, managing director, human capital and diversity for Accenture in India told ET while discussing the findings of the study entitled ‘Career Capita’.

The survey, which covered 4,100 business executives from medium to large organisations across 32 countries, including India, aimed at gaining insight into behaviours and attitudes regarding women’s careers and what it takes to succeed in the workplace.

Around 92% of the Indians believe that career capital is necessary for success (94% males and 92% females).

A very high number of Indians (98% males and 92% females) believe they are working towards increasing their career capital. Most of the Indians feel having knowledge or competency in a particular area (61%) and having longevity in one’s career (61%) contribute the most to their career capital. Similar sentiment has been noticed in America (75%) and Brazil (60%).
