MCX weekly turnover at Rs 48,996.75 crore

The turnover of leading commodity bourse MCX during the week ended June 28 rose marginally by 0.5 per cent.

MUMBAI: The turnover of leading commodity bourse MCX during the week ended June 28 rose marginally by 0.5 per cent to Rs 48,996.75 crore from the previous week's close.

MCX gold contracts registered a turnover of Rs 9,846.62 crore with the trading volume being 113,382.5 kg. However, the August delivery lost 0.63 per cent over the week to close at Rs 8,666/10 gms because of a fall in the global prices of the yellow metal, MCX on Friday said in a release.

The volume of all silver contracts in the week was 6,327,180 kg having a turnover of Rs 10,976.47 crore. The silver July contract closed at Rs 17,008 per kg, down by 4.85 per cent.

In the metal segment, the turnover of all copper contracts was Rs 11,136.24 crore and volume of 366,647 tons, while zinc turnover for the week stood at Rs 5,322.96 crore with 375,380 tons in volume.

Crude oil contracts registered a business of Rs 7,832.38 crore during the week ended June 28 at MCX where 27,918,500 barrels traded.
