MCA21 boon for pros, entrepreneurs

AHMEDABAD: Life for chartered accountants and company secretaries was never so easy. Registering a new company and reporting to registrar of companies (RoC) is now just a few clicks away.

The ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) aims to deliver all its services within 48 hours by the end of 2007-08. And probably that’s the reason why MCA’s website is receiving on an average about 17 lakh hits a day. In its first year of operations of MCA 21, which started on July 30, 2006, the ministry registered over 63,000 companies online.

MCA21 is believed to be Asia's one of the largest e-governance projects with the ministry, having a base of over 8 lakh companies registered with it.
