Guwahati: Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( FICCI) and German agency, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAF) has come out with a joint study on industrial scène in the Northeast India.

The study titled "state level reforms-Increasing Investments in Northeast" was released on Thursday in Guwahati.

The study pointed out that in particular the decade beginning 2000 witnessed a paradigm shift in the economic landscape of Northeast India with more pronounced shift during the second half of the last decade. robust growth during this period.

In absence of any large scale industries, manufacturing in Northeast is currently dominated by small and medium enterprises. "However such industrial units face constraints in the form of land acquisition, availability of power, transport, logistics, credit disbursal, skilled labour, adequate marketing initiatives and issues in taxation, " the study added.
