Mankind Pharma promoter's family office invests in D'chica

Mankind Pharma Promoter's Family Office has invested an undisclosed amount in tweens and teens puberty & fashion essentials brand, D'chica as part of Pre-series A funding. The women-led start-up plans to use the funds on marketing and R&D.

Speaking about the funding, Rajeev Juneja, Managing Director & Vice Chairman, Mankind Pharma said, " With 19% of India's. population being adolescents, the Indian tweens and teens market is a completely open white space that needs a brand that understands the unique demands of these digital natives and is agile enough to match the wavelength of this fast-evolving market. We like the founders' approach to business development and share their conviction and vision for this demographic as well as the product line."

The current kidswear market size in India is pegged at $16.62 billion and is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 5.6% till 2027. Adolescents segment forms 19% of the total kids population of India.
