The state has been hit by the worst flooding in the state in six decades that has already claimed more than 150 lives.

NEW DELHI: Diversified business conglomerate Mahindra Group today pledged Rs 2 crore to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for relief efforts in flood ravaged Jammu & Kashmir.

"The floods in J&K are devastating. The Mahindra Group pledges Rs 2 crore to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for Jammu & Kashmir flood relief," Mahindra Group Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra said on microblogging site twitter.

He further said group company Mahindra Consulting Engineers is offering to conceive and deliver a template for a safe and sustainable village cluster in flood zones in Kashmir.

The state has been hit by the worst flooding in the state in six decades that has already claimed more than 150 lives.

Navy commandos have joined the massive rescue operations being carried out by Army, IAF and NDR in the state. Nearly 22,000 people being evacuated so far, including 2,000 people from Srinagar city and adjoining areas.
