L&T bags orders worth Rs 3,816 cr
Larsen & Toubro, in consortium with global technology partners, has bagged engineering orders worth Rs 3,816 crore from various customers in the metals industry.
Largest engineering company said its consortium with Germany���s Outotec GmbH and Italy���s Paul Wurth got contracts worth Rs 2,545 crore from Tata Steel. L&T���s share of the order is Rs 1,578 crore, the company said in a statement.
Tata Steel is building a six-million-tonne pellet plant and a blast furnace at Jamshedpur as part of its capacity expansion plan. The pellet plant is scheduled for commissioning in 33 months.
The blast furnace is likely to be commissioned in 30 months. The L&T-Outotec consortium has also got a Rs 753-crore order for building a sinter plant for state-owned SAIL���s Rourkela Steel plant in Orissa. This plant is slated to be commissioned in 30 months. For this, L&T���s contract is valued at Rs 588 crore.
