Pet food and nutrition brand Lickicious has raised Rs 19 crore through a combination of equity and institutional debt, as it looks to scale its annual revenue to Rs 100 crore and expand into a broader, multi-category and omnichannel business.

Lickicious, operated by Nuvexo Wellness Pvt Ltd, counts Prath Ventures as its lead institutional investor. The founders of Atomberg and several senior industry executives are also among its early backers.

The company will deploy the fresh capital across manufacturing capacity, product development and category and channel expansion.

As part of its expansion, Lickicious is developing a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution footprint. The facility is aimed at increasing production capacity, improving supply reliability and giving the company greater control over manufacturing and product quality.

The company also plans to strengthen its research and development, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, brand and commercial teams. Its product portfolio will be expanded across categories, formats and products for both dogs and cats, while the company plans to increase its presence across sales channels.

The Rs 100 crore annual revenue target is an interim milestone towards Lickicious' larger ambition of becoming one of India's top three pet food companies over the next decade.

"A good-looking bag can win the first order. Only good food wins the next ten," said Shashwat Sahai, co-founder, Nuvexo Wellness. "Our next phase is not only about selling more, but also about building the capabilities required to become a much larger pet food company: better products, stronger manufacturing, a stronger brand and the people who can build all three."

Harmanpreet Singh, managing partner, Prath Ventures, said India's pet food market is increasingly shifting towards products and brands that can build consumer trust.

"Lickicious has demonstrated a strong understanding of Indian pet parents, a differentiated product proposition and disciplined execution across digital channels," Singh said.

Founded in 2024 by Sahai and Chandan Jha, Lickicious develops food and nutrition products for dogs and cats in India. The company operates with a focus on palatability, transparent nutrition and quality, and is now expanding its manufacturing, product development, brand and distribution capabilities.
