LG, Samsung top 2 trusted brands in India: Report

NEW DELHI: While Korean brands LG and Samsung Mobiles have emerged as the top two most trusted brands in India, some of the big domestic brands including Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Reliance and Hero MotoCorp slipped in rankings, says The Brand Trust Report, India Study 2015.

As per the study, the top five most trust brands are LG and Samsung Mobiles, Sony, Tata and Nokia.

LG was ranked fourth while Samsung Mobiles was ranked at 379th position in The Brand Trust Report in 2014.

Trust ranking of Tata brand slipped from third last year to fourth position this year, while that of Maruti Suzuki declined to 16th from 11th last year.

Similarly, Reliance is at 14th position as against 9th last year while Hero MotoCorp is at 15th position compared with 7th rank last year.

The survey was conducted amongst 2,373 respondents across 16 cities. The report is issued annually by TRA (formerly Trust Research Advisory), a Comniscient Group company.

TRA CEO N Chandramouli said: "Korean firm LG and Samsung Mobile have worked their way to become top most trusted companies in a short period of 10 to 12 years. These companies came out with products suiting the Indian market and have earned trust of Indian customers."

Top 20 most trusted companies which have improved their ranking over last year include LG, Samsung Mobiles, Bajaj, Honda, Dell, Godrej, Bata, Amul, Apple, Airtel and Dabur.

Top 20 most trusted companies which have slipped in ranking are Sony, Tata, Hewlett Packard, Reliance, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, Philips and LIC.

Nokia's ranking remained stable at fifth position. In the north India region, five most trusted brands are LG, Samsung Mobiles, Hero MotoCorp, Sony and Nokia.
