KM Abraham the new MD of KDHP

KOCHI: Kyrianthan Mathew Abraham has been appointed the new managing director of Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company Private Ltd. (KDHP), south India's largest tea plantation company. KDHP is the erstwhile Tata Tea Ltd. which is now owned by the employees who have major share

He is presently the head of sales and marketing of KDHP and is taking over the post from the current managing director Chacko P Thomas, who will take over another responsibility within the Tata Group, a KDHP statement said.

He joined Tata Tea Ltd. as assistant manager in 1994 and has over two decades of experience across the critical functions of tea plantations, factories and marketing. He is also the vice chairman of the Tea Trade Association of Cochin.

KDHP exports tea to various countries and also owns the successful tea brand Ripple premium tea.In a survey conducted by Great Places to Work and The Economic Times in 2015, KDHP was ranked number 1 in the category 'best companies for employee participation and involvement.'
