Kalam launches SME CEOs knowledge series

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India unveiled a unique Handbook for Entrepreneurs, to mark the launch of SME CEOs Knowledge Series, an ICICI Bank initiative. The Handbook is created to aid over 4000 entrepreneurs across 26 Indian cities.
It has insights and information on cluster specific inputs like Finance, HR, Taxation, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, which will help the SMEs to take their businesses to the next level. SME CEOs Knowledge Series is an innovative nation-wide program to equip SMEs with skills and knowledge relevant to their sector.
The forum will cover identified industrial clusters in 26 different cities, offering an opportunity for the CEOs to interact with the experts in various fields viz. human resources, taxation, marketing, finance and entrepreneurship. The experts include practicing Professors from IIM Calcutta, Taxation experts from advisory firm Deloitte and also Bankers from ICICI Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kalam said, ���This will certainly create larger awareness among the SMEs spread across the country. The information provided in the SME Handbook will be handy in creation of new enterprises, enhancing the productivity of present SMEs, reducing the sickness among SMEs and above all increasing the through put of the SMEs significantly.���
Present at the occasion, Mr Vijay Chandok, Senior GM & Global Head, SME Business, ICICI Bank, said, ���The SME CEO Knowledge series is yet another initiative towards our desire to create a vibrant ecosystem for the SMEs. This will also enable us to cater to the entrepreneurs at the root level with specific knowledge and guidance thereby strengthening the industry as a whole.���
