JSW Steel bags Golden Peacock for CSR initiatives

The country's largest private-sector steel producer JSW Steel on Tuesday said it has bagged 'Golden Peacock' award for 2008 for its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

NEW DELHI: The country's largest private-sector steel producer JSW Steel on Tuesday said it has bagged 'Golden Peacock' award for 2008 for its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The Golden Peacock Awards Jury, under the chairmanship of former Prime Minister of Sweden Ola Ullsten and the co-chairmanship of former chief justice of India Justice P N Bhagwati, gave the award to JSW in recognition of the company's works and efforts for CSR initiatives, the steel major said in a statement.

The award was conferred at Vilamoura, Portugal last month.

The CSR inactivates of the steel major are undertaken through JSW Foundation, it said.

JSW Steel, part of USD 8-billion O P Jindal Group, has the largest galvanising production capacity in India.
