Jindal MD honoured with 'Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2009’
Managing director of Jindal saw Ltd Ms. Sminu Jindal has been honoured with the prestigious FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) 'Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2009’ award for her professional achievements and contribution towards the steel sector.

NEW DELHI: Managing director of Jindal saw Ltd Ms. Sminu Jindal has been honoured with the prestigious FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) 'Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2009��� award for her professional achievements and contribution towards the steel sector. Ms. Jindal was presented the award at a ceremony organised in Mumbai by FLO to present the ���Great Women Achievers Awards 2009���.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Jindal said, ���It is a great honour to receive this prestigious award. It brings with it a sense of greater responsibility and promise to excel in our core business.���
Ms. Jindal is the first lady entrant in the country to do her gender proud by breaking the glass ceiling in the steel, oil and gas sector in India. Her business acumen and foresight has been instrumental in bringing about a complete image makeover of Jindal SAW by engaging modern production techniques, initiating environment protection steps and introducing enhanced professionalism at every level of operation.
Overcoming physical challenges and charting her professional journey, her dedication to making public infrastructure accessible to all especially reduced mobility people through the initiative ���Svayam��� has given it the right impetus and highlighted the tribulations of the mobility challenged at various platforms - government, public or corporate.
She also serves as the chairperson of ARUNIM, a marketing initiative by the National Trust. This initiative is a step towards economic empowerment of persons with severe to profound disabilities who have limited opportunities for open placement.
