NEW YORK: Isha Ambani and Radhika Piramal, the generation next of India Inc, have been named by Forbes magazine among its 12 "power businesswomen" from Asia who are well on their way to forging stellar reputations in their industries.

The 23-year-old Ambani, daughter of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, is a Director at Reliance Jio Infocomm and Reliance Retail Ventures.

One of three children of India's richest person and chairman of the $75 billion in revenue Reliance Industries, she was named to the telecom and retail units' boards in October.

Forbes has named 12 "savvy, ambitious women, some of whom are well on their way to forging stellar reputations in their industries, others still in apprenticeship but learning fast" in its 2015 list of Asia's Power Businesswomen to watch out for.

It said the world should expect more from these women in the years to come.

On the list is Piramal, 36, Managing Director of VIP Industries (luggage).

She took over in 2010, turning a sluggish luggage maker into a sought-after brand that in India outsells world market leader Samsonite and has annual sales of over $150 million.

Forbes said the daughter of company founder and chairman, Dilip Piramal, has tapped Bollywood stars to promote her goods. She previously worked at management consultant Bain and is a graduate of Oxford with an MBA from Harvard.

Also on the list includes Ameera Shah, 35, MD, Promoter and CEO at Metropolis Healthcare and Samina Vaziralli, 39, Head of Strategic Projects at Cipla New Ventures.

The list includes 42-year-old Jocelyn Kum, the eldest daughter of Singapore hotel magnate Michael Kum, and 36-year- old Jean Liu, president of taxi hailing app Didi Dache.
