Is Mukesh Ambani readying to induct Gen Next in RIL?

MUMBAI: Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha, who finished her graduation at Yale with majors in psychology and south Asian studies last month, joined her father at the 39th AGM of Reliance Industries (RIL) in Mumbai on Thursday, adding fuel to speculation that the next generation could join the company soon.

Ambani's elder son Akash, who is just 7 minutes older to Isha, finished his graduation at Brown University last month. He, however, could not join the packed AGM at Birla Matushree in South Mumbai as he was out of town. Akash, it may be recalled, was spotted alongside his father in London in 2011 when the $7.2-billion deal with BP was signed. That had sparked the initial round of speculation regarding the younger Ambani's future role in the family empire.

On Thursday, Ambani as usual was joined by his mother Kokilaben, dressed in a pink printed saree, wife Nita, dressed in a white suit, and younger son Anant in a dark business suit. Anant passed his standard 12 exams from Dhirubhai Ambani International School this year.
