Infosys to expand Executive Council

BANGALORE: Infosys, which is going through its biggest management transition, plans to induct four new members to its executive council - the highest decision making body below the company's board - people familiar with the discussions said.

The executive council, which grooms future leaders of the company, is likely to see four new faces in the next three months, according to people familiar with the development.

Stephen Pratt (head of Infosys Consulting), UB Pravin Rao (head- retail, CPG and life sciences), Prasad Thrikutam (head - energy, utilities, communications and services) and Nandita Gurjar (head-HR) will be the four new additions on the EC and an announcement to this effect will be made in August. In response to an e-mail query, Infosys said: "We will not be able to comment as this is speculative in nature."

An analyst tracking Infosys said: "Pratt, Pravin and Thrikutam head service lines and verticals which were recently created by Infosys. So it's logical that they are elevated to the EC. On the other hand, Nandita Gurjar will be the HR face on the EC since Mohandas Pai will be leaving soon. These changes provide insights into how the company is managing expectations of its young leaders but I don't expect any immediate impact." The analyst did not wish to be named.

One of the persons familiar with the development further said that the announcement about the additions on the EC would happen after the addition of new board members, which will be announced on June 11th.
