Infosys BPO top honcho,Seetharaman Vaitheeswaran, joins Mohandas Pai
The head of Infosys BPO’s India business Seetharaman Vaitheeswaran will join MUL as the chief operating officer from September.
MUL is the for-profit corporate arm of the Manipal group's education ventures. The notfor-profit Indian universities include Manipal University, Sikkim Manipal University, among others.
Infosys BPO confirmed that Vaitheeswaran was quitting the company but declined to comment on where he would be joining next.
Mohandas Pai, who was a director and head of HR at Infosys , is the non-executive chairman of MUL.
At Infosys BPO, Vaitheeswaran was also a part of the executive council and was involved in strategy formulation and implementation. He was also responsible for driving global service delivery excellence in the $427-million division.
Vaitheeswaran has 30 years of experience in the areas of sales and marketing, supply chain management, operations, and global marketing . Prior to joining Infosys , he was director and COO of Eicher International.
Sources said some midmanagement level executives are also quitting Infosys BPO to join MUL.
In India, MUL offers distance learning (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), vocational training and customized courses for corporate clients . MUL also owns and runs medical and engineering education campuses in Nepal, Malaysia, Dubai and Antigua. MUL, said to be a Rs 1,200 crore company, has private equity investors like IDFC PE and PremjiInvest invested in the company.
