In the 2015 edition of top 100 best companies, research revealed some of the key strengths and areas of improvements for India Inc. Friendliness, workplace safety, non-discrimination on basis of religion, sex and race, pride and trust in management’s competence were found to be some of the leading strengths of organisations in India. The study revealed that even though non-discrimination on basis of sex is an area of strength of organisations in India, only 22% of the Indian workforce is women and they are less engaged than men. Politics and favouritism, pride, opportunity to get recognition, performance evaluation and career management are key areas where women have returned lower scores as compared to men.

Perceptions about managers’ favouritism and politicking, equitable distribution of profits, fair performance evaluation, fair pay, lack of unique benefits, recognition and absence of collaboration in decision making were found to be some of the leading areas of improvement for organisations in India. Only around 50-60% of the respondents feel positive about these areas.
