Indian CEOs under stress due to eurozone crisis: Assocham
Majority of CEOs surveyed are reeling under stress to meet targets amid ongoing eurozone debt crisis and uncertainty in business, industry body Assocham said today.
The survey, conducted on 300 senior business executives of public and private sectors, found that 78 per cent of CEOs reel under stress and fatigue to deliver the desired results.
More than 82 per cent CEOs responded that doing business as per organisational expectations has severely affected their daily routine and health adversely.
The survey found only 22 per cent of them succeed in countering their fatigue in a bid to achieve yearly targets. They take help of yoga, gym, sports such as golf and cycling, music and morning stroll to relive stress, it added.
"Rising cost of funds and the increased government spending result in higher fiscal deficit ... delay in policy execution and project approvals has made the life CEOs stressful," Assocham Secretary General D S Rawat said.
Nearly 15 per cent take stress as a positive instrument to work harder, it said, adding that most of them opt for a proper balanced diet.
