IMEA to award companies for excellence in manufacturing

MUMBAI: Taking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make In India call, Indian manufacturing industry is getting ready for the big global thrust. Indian companies are moving towards adopting sustainable business practices that will help them differentiate from competition and acquire a competitive advantage over time.
Manufacturers that strive to achieve efficiency and profitability through best practices will be celebrated through Indian Manufacturing Excellence Awards ( IMEA) for 2014 on Friday evening. The efforts of manufacturers across sectors including auto, auto ancillaries, metals, pharmaceuticals and processes that include fast moving consumer goods will be acknowledged at the event to be held at Trident, Bandra-Kurla Complex.

“IMEA is designed not only to recognise the best manufacturing facilities in India, but also to map capability of the entire supply chain, and highlight areas for improvements through an impartial and pre-defined assessment process,“ said Raghavendra Rao, senior vice-president & global manufacturing leader, Frost & Sullivan.

The awards given by The Economic Times and Frost & Sullivan, acknowledge the best facilities in India that have achieved and sustained manufacturing excellence. The manufacturing facilities are rated on 12 parameters that capture excellence on cost, quality and delivery.

Frost & Sullivan has been routinely assessing competent manufacturing sites of organised sector companies for more than a decade now.
