Idea Cellular offers flexi hours, face masks to employees battling Delhi pollution
MUMBAI: Kumar Mangalam Birla owned Idea Cellular has rolled out a series of initiatives for its employees battling Delhi pollution.

"In view of the present weather condition and the poor air quality in Delhi NCR, Idea Cellular, which has operations facilities in Noida, looking after Delhi NCR and the UP West region, is taking all necessary steps in the interest of the health of its employees," said the company in response to a query from ET.

The telecom firm has allowed employees to follow flexi timings and face masks are being distributed.

Special buses will be plied to pick and drop employees from key locations and car pools are being planned so that vehicular movement is reduced. All these measures will continue for this week.

India’s capital city has seen a spike in air pollution that has choked the city and led to schools shutting down. Combination of smoke from farm residue from neighbouring states, impact of firecrackers burnt during Diwali and vehicle emissions have made the city a ‘gas chamber’ in the last one week.
