Idea BE Quiz 2010 kicks off today

MUMBAI: The month of May is the peak when it comes to the heat. For India Inc however, the mercury has risen a notch higher. Yes, the most coveted quizzing event in India, Idea Brand Equity Quiz 2010 kicks off today from Bangalore. And just like the Twenty20 matches, this edition promises to have its share of cheering crowds, close encounters and some sheer domination as well on the field as the event travels to 9 cities across India before the grand finals to be held in Mumbai.

The Idea Brand Equity Quiz 2010 is one platform where CEOs, CMOs, advertising and media professionals and even the regular quiz aficionados come together to battle for the ultimate glory in corporate quizzing in India. This year, as part of Brand Equity's effort to engage with the advertising and media fraternity in India, Brand Equity Quiz has an innovation in store - an advertising and media round, only for the fraternity. So beginning with Bangalore today, the A&M rounds will be held at Delhi and Mumbai. So here's a chance for copywriters, planners and suits to match their wits for a slot in the regional rounds and ultimately an opportunity to book a seat in the national finals.

Debutants and veterans will face quizmaster Derek O'Brien's volley of questions. Even the audience will get a chance to answer the quiz master's questions with lots of audience prizes in store. From Bangalore, the action moves to Kolkata on May 6, next up on May 8 is Delhi while Ahmedabad will witness the duel on May 10. May 12 will see the Idea Brand Equity Quiz 2010 debuting in the satellite town of Chandigarh, before it moves to Pune on May 14 and then to Hyderabad on May 15. The last leg of regional rounds will be held on May 17 in Mumbai, with Chennai fighting it out last on May 18.

The National winners to be held in Mumbai will drive home a Mahindra Scorpio each. The presenting sponsor for Idea Brand Equity Quiz 2010 is Idea, the grand prize sponsor is Mahindra Scorpio. Times Now is the television partner for the event and Club Mahindra Holidays is the holiday partner. National prize sponsors include URBANA - Techno Formals, MapmyIndia, I-Omega, TIMEX, Quick Heal, Back 2 Barter and Vedic Village Spa.

So all you quiz buffs, mark the dates in your itinerary and begin your preparations. As is the norm, there will be favourites at the beginning of the event and sure, there will be dark horses who will emerge in the course of the event.
