ICAI President K Raghu becomes IFAC board member

NEW DELHI: The president of chartered accountants body ICAI, K Raghu, has been elected to the board of International Federation of Accountants ( IFAC).

Raghu has been elected for a three-year period starting from November this year.

IFAC, a global body for the accountancy profession, has about 179 members and associates spread across 130 countries and jurisdictions. These members represent about 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry, and commerce.

"I humbly take pride in joining the league of world accountancy leaders serving the profession globally.

"In this highly responsible and prestigious position, I look forward to proactively link Indian accounting vision and issues with the ultimate vision of IFAC," Raghu said in a statement today.

He was elected as board member during a meeting of IFAC held recently in Italy.
