CHENNAI: The Hinduja Group Chairman S P Hinduja became nostalgic when he narrated his success story.
Referring to the praises heaped on him at a function to dedicate Ashok Leyland's Technical Centre, at the suburban Ennore, to the nation, he said "I dedicate all the accolades to my parents and brothers who stood with me during difficult times. I am successful today because of the support extended by them", he said.
His group took over Ashok Leyland in 1987 when the company was in doldrums. All the officials of the company helped the group to make Leyland as a blue-chip company of the group, he said.
Praising the work done by employees to make the turnaround, he said "our group will always support the endeavours of Ashok Leyland to blossom into a global player."
He paid rich encomium to Principal Scientific Advisor Dr R Chidambaram, the chief guest of the function, and said he drew inspiration from the scientist.
