Goodyear appoints Daniel L Smytka as Asia-Pacific President

NEW DELHI: Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Company today said it has appointed Daniel L Smytka as President for its Asia-Pacific operations.

Smytka will succeed Pierre Cohade, who has resigned from the company to explore a new opportunity, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company said in a statement.

Cohade will remain with the company through the end of the year to assist with the transition, it added.

Commenting on the development, Goodyear Chairman, President and CEO Richard J Kramer said: "Dan is a strong and talented business professional and the ideal leader to take our Asia business to the next level of performance."

Prior to this new role, Smytka handled Goodyear's Asia consumer business and subsequently led the relocation and expansion of the company's factory in China.

Smytka worked with General Electric and United Technologies Corporation prior to joining Goodyear in 2008, the statement said.
