As part of its digital transformation strategy, Godrej Enterprises Group is set to launch a unified artificial intelligence engine called Amethyst.

The group will incorporate AI in its brand strategy for all products, starting with washing machines. It plans to deliver a minimum 10–15% productivity uplift for every associate with the AI intelligence engine, Godrej Enterprises claimed.

“AI augments people; it does not replace them. As a result, roles are evolving rather than disappearing, e.g., engineers and plant teams are spending less time on manual checks and more on optimisation and innovation,” executive director Nyrika Holkar told ET.

In addition, Holkar said, the group is looking at reclaiming thousands of productive hours, and embed agentic AI directly into products, operations and customer experiences over the coming years.

Last year, Godrej Enterprises Group announced a Rs 1,200 crore investment over three to five years to accelerate digital transformation across its businesses. “This signals a move towards an intelligence-first enterprise, one that blends human judgment with machine intelligence, and progress with trust,” she said.

The company has developed use cases over the last year or so at both the back and front ends. “We intend to roll these out gradually across all our 14 businesses,” she said.

The use of AI for Godrej Enterprise employees will be in the form of enterprise-grade assistants and autonomous agents embedded into daily work. “Employees can access institutional knowledge, automate workflows and accelerate decision-making through a single Amethyst experience,” Holkar said.

There are currently about 15,000 employees at Godrej Enterprises.

“We are investing deeply in building AI fluency across the organisation starting with leadership and extending all the way to the shop floor,” she said. AI training is mandatory for all employees including those on shop floors. The course and number of training hours vary depending on the role and level.

“On the product and services front, intelligence is being embedded directly into appliances, engineering solutions and digital offerings, she said.

“We are next working on refrigerators and air conditioners,” she added.
