In the first nine months of 2025, firms including Google Cloud, Meta, Databricks, MongoDB, Ingram Micro, Autodesk, and New Relic have named new India leaders. This trend spans a wide range of sectors, enterprise tech, data centres, cloud, cybersecurity, fintech, and digital services, highlighting India’s central role in global tech expansion.
US-based data and AI firm Databricks, recently valued at over $100 billion, has appointed Kamalkanth Tummala as its new country manager for India. "In India's dynamic landscape, data and AI are reshaping every organisation, and Databricks is uniquely positioned to help enterprises build a lasting competitive advantage," he said in a press statement.
Databricks plans to invest $250 million in India over the next three years to strengthen training, research and development, and go-to-market operations. The company also aims to expand its workforce by more than 50%, reaching over 750 employees this fiscal year.
Google Cloud has named Sashikumar Sreedharan as managing director for India, succeeding Bikram Singh Bedi. These moves signal that multinational tech firms are increasingly treating India as a strategic growth engine rather than just another regional office.
