Gautam Adani surpasses Bill Gates to become 4th richest person in the world

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has overtaken Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates as the 4th richest person in the world on the Real-Time Billionaires rankings.

With a net worth of $116.4 billion, Adani stood at the 4th position. Meanwhile, Gates’, with a net worth of $104.6 billion, stood at the 5th position.

Adani has once again become the richest Asian on the list, with RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani ranking at 10 with a net worth of $90.1 billion.


The top three positions were acquired by Tesla chief Elon Musk ($235.8 billion net worth), Louis Vuitton CEO Bernard Arnault ($157.1 billion net worth), and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($148.4 billion net worth).

Adani entered the $100-billion wealth club a few months ago. However, the growth can be linked to strong performance of the company and its stocks.

Currently, Adani has been planning to foray into the telecom sector and compete with some of the top telcos like Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Jio.
