New Delhi: India Inc. should come forward and participate in the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said Monday. "Industry should participate in the larger interest of the country and youth of the country...," the minister said while addressing a conference to launch a mobile application for the initiative. Sitharaman emphasised that there is no compulsion on industry and no interference. The scheme is for a national cause, she said, appealing to industry to come forward and participate.

"You need to open the window...," she said. According to Sitharaman, the scheme's website and app are being made more accessible. It is available in various languages. "Every language should have its prominence," she noted.
