NEW DELHI: Diwali is round the corner and HR managers have a busy time as the occasion presents a great opportunity for them to 'touch' the lives of employees and their families.

The human resource managers believe that it is a right time to 'touch' the lives of their employees and on the eve of the festival they have become sort of event managers organising parties and gifts, giving a break to their routine works.

"We are organising a Diwali bash on 17th of this month and nearly 18,000 employees of the company along with their spouses and children have been invited," the country's biggest car maker Maruti's Chief General Manager (HR) S Y Siddiqui said.

The company would also be distributing chocolates and sweets apart from giving 50 per cent of the variable part of the employees' salary earned, during this time of the year, Siddiqui added.

"We have already organised our mega Diwali bash, apart from which we are gifting silver coins, a crystal bowl along with floating diyas and sweet boxes to all the employees," Times Internet Limited' Chief Manager HR Kavita Dasan said.

The celebrations would continue till a day before Diwali when the company would host a high tea party with an ethnic dress code apart from a customary Laxmi Puja done every year, Dasan added.

"This is a good time to create bonding with our employees and their families, this year we are gifting Sodexo Coupons so that they are able to shop with it as per their needs," Apollo International Chief Manager HR Vijay Rai said.
