Ex-Belgian PM Charles Michel to speak at ET Now Global Business Summit 2026

The ET NOW Global Business Summit will host many eminent politicians and thought leaders over two days later this week.

Among the speakers at the Summit will be Charles Michel, a prominent Belgian politician and statesman who most recently served as the President of the European Council. A member of the liberal Reformist Movement (MR), he previously served as the Prime Minister of Belgium, making history as the youngest person to hold the office since 1841.

Michel's speeches encompass geopolitics, leadership and the future of the European Union. As the Prime Minister of Belgium till 2019, Michel led a centre-right coalition and managed the country through significant challenges, including the 2016 Brussels terrorist attacks and major socio-economic reforms.


He chaired the European Council through the COVID-19 pandemic, orchestrated EU recovery plans and coordinated the Union's response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Michel has also earlier served as the Belgian Minister for Development Cooperation (2007-2011) and the Walloon Minister for Interior Affairs.
