Ex-ArcelorMittal HR head joins Bharti

Former ArcelorMittal HR head joins Bharti Enterprises as group HR director.

NEW DELHI: Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Enterprises has appointed Inder Walia, former head of human resources at world's largest steel maker ArcelorMittal as its group HR director.

Walia will be responsible for human resource management and integration as director and a member of the management board of the group, which owns the country's top mobile operator Bharti Airtel.

"I am confident that Inder (Walia) will be an effective team member making significant contribution to realise the company's vision," Bharti Enterprises Group CEO and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said in a statement.

Walia, who was also a member of the management committee in Arcelor Mittal, would take charge at Bharti from August 6.

He was with ArcelorMittal group, headed by NRI tycoon L N Mittal, for eight years till June-end.

Bharti Enterprises has interests in agri-business, retail and insurance, besides telecom.
