MUMBAI: The Economic Times has joined hands with Acer and Intel to institute Smart Workplace Awards in order to honour organisations utilising technology optimally to ensure growth in employee productivity, reports Our Bureau.
PricewaterhouseCoopers will be the knowledge partner for the event.
This first-of-its-kind initiative has attracted participation from CTOs and chief information officers from over 20,000 business entities across India.
Says Acer India MD WS Mukund, ���These awards honour companies, which empower employees with technology. This is in line with Acer���s mission of breaking barriers between people and technology by empowering them with the latest in technology and design innovation. We wish the best for all the companies and may the smartest workplace win.���

The criteria for participation comprise the size of companies, the verticals and the cities they hail from. Organisations can submit entries under small (50-200 employees), medium (201-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) categories.
The sectors considered include financial services, industrial markets, consumer markets, infrastructure and information-communication-entertainment.
The participation is open to companies based in the Delhi national capital region (NCR), Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kochi and Kolkata, who can submit their entries (subject to a maximum of five divisions per organisation) by logging on to www.smartworkplaceawards.com before May 25, 2008.
