Environment ranks low in Indian corporate values

The study was prepared by Ecco International Communications Network, a global PR and communications agency.

KOLKATA: Environment and safety issues figure lower in the agenda of Indian corporates then its foreign counterparts, a study revealed.
The study, International Corporate Values Index 2006, that was conducted across 3,236 corporations in 12 countries, found the issues of customer satisfaction, quality and innovation to be the top three in the priority list in India.
The study was prepared by Ecco International Communications Network, a global PR and communications agency.
While environment ranked fifth in international ranking, it was not even in the top 10 in India, Ecco Indian member Pressman PR Chairman Niren Suchanti told reporters.
Suchanti said the top three of the international rankings were quality, innovation and customer satisfaction.
The number of Indian corporates selected for the study were 301, which included PSUs, family-run business houses, MNCs, listed and unlisted companies, culled from 14 different industries.
