As part of its Clean India mission, Emami Group today said it would build bio sanitation facilities in remote and backward areas across several states.

KOLKATA: As part of its Clean India mission, Emami Group today said it would build bio sanitation facilities in remote and backward areas across West Bengal, Orissa, Assam and Uttarakhand over the next three years.

"A total budget of Rs 15 crore has been earmarked towards the propagation of the cause. Of this, Rs 5 crore for West Bengal, Rs 4 crore each for Odisha and Assam and Rs 2 crore for Uttarakhand have been allocated to the cause of water, sanitation and hygiene," the company said in a statement.

Under this project, bio-toilets developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) would be built in rural and backward areas of the four earmarked states, the statement said.
