Chairman of Committee on National Competition Policy has said that companies are now taking due diligence, which is a dynamic concept, more seriously.

NEW DELHI: With the introduction of competition norms, carrying out due diligence activities have become more important for companies while deciding on business deals, according to a senior competition policy expert.


Dhanendra Kumar, Chairman of Committee on National Competition Policy today said that companies are now taking due diligence, which is a dynamic concept, more seriously.

"After competition laws came into force, it has become more important for companies to ensure that they are compliant with those norms, especially when it comes to M&As," he said.

Kumar was speaking at the national seminar titled 'Due Diligence: Key to Successful Business Deals' organised by industry body Assocham here.

Meanwhile, the government is working on a National Competition Policy to usher in greater competitive environment in the market and provide a level playing field for the entities.
