Digital infrastructure will change the future of work in India: N Venkatram, CEO, Deloitte India
"About 64 per cent of the population will be in the working age by 2020, making India one of the youngest countries in the world," he said.

"The Indian economy is faced with a significant opportunity primarily due to the demographic dividend. About 64 per cent of the population will be in the working age by 2020, making India one of the youngest countries in the world," he said.
In the last few years, he pointed out, the government has focused on physical infrastructure like highways and airports. However, going ahead, the digital infrastructure will also become equally important. "Technology -enabled platforms like Aadhaar and United Payments Interface, coupled with the increasing outreach of Jan Dhan accounts and initiatives like BharatNet, are expected to give a further fillip to the integration of the country, both economically and socially," he said.
He concluded by saying this integration would change the future of work in India, while policy and regulatory intervention, coupled with focus on skill benefits, would boost the Indian economy in the years to come. "When we look at the future, we should not just look at manufacturing but also look at all the other sectors in India, in particular the services sector," he said.
