Deputy Commissioner of State Tax authorises inspection at Poonawalla FinCorp's Pune office

Poonawalla FinCorp notified on Tuesday that an inspection and search proceedings under Section 67 of the CGST Act, 2017, was issued by the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Pune, Maharashtra. The inspection pertains to the company’s records and operations.

Following this, a State Tax officer initiated an inspection of the company’s records at its registered office in Pune, Maharashtra. In response to the proceedings, the company said in an exchange filing that it is extending full cooperation to the authorities involved in the inspection process.

"With reference to the captioned subject, we would like to inform you that an authorization for inspection / search proceedings u/s 67 of CGST Act, 2017 was issued by Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Pune, Maharashtra on the Company. Pursuant to the above, State Tax officer, initiated inspection of the records at the registered office of the Company in Pune, Maharashtra. The Company is extending full cooperation," the notification read.

"There is no material impact on financial, operation or other activities of the company," it added.
