Darius Khambata resigns from Tata Trusts

Tata Sons, did not respond to an email sent by ET. Khambata also refused to comment on the ongoing tussle between Tata Sons and Cyrus Mistry.

Darius Khambata resigns from Tata Trusts
MUMBAI: Renowned lawyer Darius Khambata has resigned from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. Khambata confirmed this to ET.

He resigned before Mistry sent his letter to TATA Sons.

The resignation therefore was right after, Mistry was asked to vacate the chairman’s post. “I resigned during increasing professional commitments,” said the former Additional Solicitor General of India and Maharashtra Advocate General.

Tata Sons, did not respond to an email sent by ET. Khambata also refused to comment on the ongoing tussle between Tata Sons and Cyrus Mistry.

Ratan Tata was made the interim chairman on 24th of October and the next day Mistry wrote a letter to Tata Sons board members and trustees of Tata Trusts on issues he faced in the four years at the helm of the business house.

Tata Trusts own two third shares of Tata Sons.
