Credit Suisse CEO earns USD 17.9 million in 2009
Credit Suisse CEO Brady W Dougan received 19.2 million swiss francs as compensation last year, nearly seven times higher than his pay package in 2008.
Out of the total amount paid in 2009, Dougan was awarded a salary of 1.25 million swiss francs and 17.87 million swiss francs worth of share-based and other awards, Credit Suisse said in its annual report of 2009.
However, Dougan's compensation last year was much higher than 2.86 million swiss francs he received in 2008.
Besides, the Swiss banking entity had also paid 148.9 million swiss francs in total compensation to its 13 executive board members last year.
Most of the 148.9 million swiss francs paid to the executives consist of share-based awards. While basic salaries amounted to 9.13 million swiss francs.
In 2008, 15 members of the executive board were awarded a total compensation of 106.71 million swiss francs including basic salaries of 10.62 million swiss francs.
Credit Suisse swung to a net profit of 6.41 billion francs in 2009 from a year-earlier net loss of 8.22 billion francs.
