Longer commuting time is taking a larger bite than ever out of employee take-home salary, according to the latest Regus global worker survey. The survey, which covered 44,000 professionals globally and more than 2,000 in India, shows the cost of commuting for workers across the world has almost doubled since 2010. In India, professionals spend as much as 6% of their take-home salary on commuting. “Several companies are looking favourably at having people work from home. But our survey shows there is not much infrastructure support for them at home,” says Harsh Lambah, country manager, Regus India. ET takes a look at the highlights of the survey.
