Education is key to unleash the tremendous potential of the people in India: Sheetal Mehta, Mahindra & Mahindra

At the Mahindra Group, our core purpose is to challenge conventional thinking and innovatively use our resources to drive positive change in the lives of our stakeholders and communities, and enable them to Rise. Annually, we invest over Rs.200 crs in CSR programs focused on the constituencies of girls, youth and farmers, who we support through programs in the domains of Education, Health and Environment.

We believe education is the key to unleash the tremendous potential of the people in India , and hence education and skilling programs form a dominant part of our CSR portfolio. Our flagship program, Nanhi Kali was started by Anand Mahindra two decades ago, and today we are supporting the education of over 130000 underprivileged girls, year on year.

Some of the other long term programs range from providing a variety of scholarships to providing livelihood training of youth through our Mahindra Pride Schools and Tech Mahindra Smart Academies, and helping small and marginal farmers through water conservation programs, planting of million fruit bearing trees every year, and introducing them to the most efficient farming practices.
