Convergence on the right track: Kanwar
Apollo International managing director Raaja Kanwar believes that the convergence of technology is giving users the ease of having one device instead of five for different purposes.

“Though I love these business phones, I want to switch to iPhone and play with this gadget which has so much of hype around it,” he says. His notebook is a Sony Vaio. “It’s small, light-weight and very convenient when travelling,” Mr Kanwar adds.
Another constant companion is a 80 GB video iPod. He listens to music to unwind while travelling. ”I watch videos too, though I know its just a two-inch screen but at least it gives a gist of what’s happening,” he says. His Bose noise cancellation headphones, QuietComfort 3, also come handy while travelling by air.
Mr Kanwar was a photographer once, working for a fashion magazine in the US. His passion for photography and cameras continues. He uses a Sony camera.
“The high-definition video camera helps me in taking pictures which I can show my kids and add to my picture library,” he says excitedly.
At work, among other things, replying to about 40 e-mails a day keeps Mr Kanwar busy. At home, wi-fi helps access devices anywhere, without wires. His BlackBerry also comes handy when he has to send e-mails on the move. “WiMAX will be an ideal thing to happen as it will become easy to do business,” he says.
On a scale of 10, he will give himself 9.5 for being tech-savvy. He reserves half a mark because while he is busy talking about his tool kit, some new gadget might have entered the market. Such is technology.
