Coca-Cola names Atul Singh as Asia-Pacific chairman
MUMBAI: The Coca-Cola Company has named Atul Singh as chairman of its Asia Pacific Group as part of a move to streamline its global structure, align operating units against its global bottling network and promote key talent. John Murphy, currently president of Coca-Cola’s South Latin business unit, will replace Singh as president of Asia Pacific Group, the company said.

As president of the region for the past three years, Singh was responsible for Coca-Cola operations at five business units that cover nearly 36 markets, including China, India, Japan and Singapore. He will no longer focus on daily operations. “He will continue to focus on managing a number of key stakeholders, government relations, key merger and acquisition initiatives, as well as continuing to serve on a number of boards, until March 2017 when he will retire from the company,” the company statement said.

Singh joined Coca-Cola in 1998 as V-P of operations in India and in 2005 took over as president of India and South West Asia region. He delivered 32 consecutive quarters of growth in his tenure in India.
