Citi India CEO appointed to US-India Business Council

Premier business advocacy organisation US India Business Council (USIBC) on Monday announced the appointment of Sanjay Nayar, Chief Executive Officer of Citi's franchisee in India, to its Board of Directors.

MUMBAI: Premier business advocacy organisation US India Business Council (USIBC) on Monday announced the appointment of Sanjay Nayar, Chief Executive Officer of Citi's franchisee in India, to its Board of Directors.

USIBC's mandate is to strengthen commercial ties between the US and India, a release said here today.

The USIBC represents around 250 US companies investing in India, joined by two dozen of India'a largest global companies, the release said.

"Nayar, a seasoned banker, brings a solid track record of international banking and in-depth understanding of India. With rich experience of working in India, he has been a strong advocate of US-India economic partnership at various levels and is an important addition to the USIBC Board," Charles `Chip' Kaye, USIBC chairman and Co-President of the Private Equity firm Warburg Pincus, the release added.
