US financial services firm Charles Schwab plans to expand its India tech centre workforce ‌to about 2,000 ⁠employees ⁠by the end of 2027, according to a document seen by Reuters and a source familiar with the company's plans.

Schwab's ​Hyderabad office will provide technology development, ​engineering ​and operational support ⁠to the company's U.S. business.

The company also ​plans to bring some ​technology work currently handled by contractors in India in-house at the centre, according to the source, who ‌did not want to be named as they are ​not ​authorised to ⁠talk to the media.
