As the curtain fell on this edition, the spotlight lingered on those who not only excelled within their organisational roles but also played an important role in shaping a landscape where managerial brilliance thrives. The Great Manager Awards, an annual ode to leadership par excellence, continues to inspire and elevate the standards of managerial achievement in the dynamic corporate space.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sandeep Krishnan, CEO at People Business said that with a legacy spanning nine years, this initiative is driven by a commitment to excellence rooted in global research.

“Great managers, highlighted tonight, embody the pillars of team alignment, accountability, individual inspiration, and unwavering credibility. Their impact on organisational success resonates, reminding us of the pivotal role leadership plays in building exceptional workplaces,” he said.

In her keynote address, Alka Mittal, former CMD of ONGC stated that in the face of disruptions like the pandemic and geopolitical conflicts, a truly future-ready organisation thrives on a team embracing change, innovation, and global values.

“Leadership skills must evolve, focusing on leading by example, learning continuously, exuding energy, upholding ethical standards, and being agile doers. These qualities define the key differentiator between good and great leaders in navigating our competitive future,” Mittal said.
Great Managers 2023
This year almost 175 companies and around 5000 managers participated in the Great Manager Awards. They were evaluated through a rigorous assessment process followed by a CXO interview. The top 100 managers were selected out of them for the Great Manager Awards.

There was an interesting panel discussion on- ‘Leadership development in a multi-generational Workforce and the challenges it poses’. Noted actor, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker- Ashish Vidyarthi was the guest of the evening.

Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan Pro-Vice Chancellor- Management, Law, Humanities and Social Sciences, MAHE, and T. A. Pai Chair Professor of Finance, TAPMI was the distinguished guest of honour for the evening.
